Some of them found a source that will fix the units for around $100. During my second year of ownership, the power supply stopped functioning. I found that many other owners of this radio have experienced the same problem. I decided to use my $100 and purchase another type of Internet radio instead. I now have a Chumby, which I am enjoying more than I did the Roku.
I'm done dealing with those clowns. My SECOND Roku unit failed 14 months after the first one. These units are a great idea, but a very BAD reality. When the first one failed, I went 15 rounds with their "Customer Service" reps who disowned the problem. Finally, I sent them a draft of the Amazon review I would publish if they didn't send me a replacement, and they finally agreed to send me a RECONDITIONED replacement unit. Too much money for too little durability and a complete absence of customer support. KEEP LOOKING.
For example, KFI in Los Angeles.3. The BIGGEST problem with this radio is the LACK of/no support from ROKU. There are 3 real BIG problems with this radio.1. The power supply WILL go out eventually. It's pretty much an orphan product.2. Certain feeds cannot be played and with no support will probably never work. It can be repaired but not by ROKU.It's unfortunate that ROKU abandoned this product because it is really a nice radio.I suggest looking at Logitech Squeezebox Radio as an alternative.
I've had the Soundbridge R1000 for two years and enjoyed it very much until it completely died like many others. Roku customer service can not be had, might as well throw it away. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had. It makes me wonder why Amazon would even sell this item when it will not be supported.
Since my radio was out of warranty, Roku wouldn't help. Summary: You are much better off buying a Logitech Squeezebox.I loved my Roku at first but then the power supply went out. I searched online and found that this was a known issue impacting tons of people. I wouldn't be that upset if it was a one off thing but apparently this is a known issue that has users talking about a class action lawsuit. Best to avoid this product and this company.
